Seattle Cafessa
Posted Jan 13, 2020

Southlake's Seattle Stars FC has merged with Fenix FC to form Seattle Cafessa, the local affilliate for the Deportivo Cafessa Jalisco soccer club, based in Guadalajara, Mexico. The Jalisco club was founded in 2015, and currently plays in the Serie A of Liga Premier. We are very excited and proud of this new relationship with an up and coming, growing Mexican club, and the possibilities it opens up for Hispanic players in our area.

New Director of Coaching - Matt Weyman!
Posted Jan 24, 2019

Southlake is proud to announce the hiring of Matt Weyman as our new Director of Coaching. Matt is UEFA qualified and recently received a Director of Coaching advanced diploma from the University of South Wales. Matt is coach of our BU12 Red team and conducted training sessions for several Southlake teams last fall, as well as doing striker training on Friday nights at Hazen.

Matt will be overseeing all coaching matters within the club and will look to create new initiatives to help with the long-term development of both our players and volunteer coaches. Since the spring season is well underway there won’t be any immediate changes, but as we work our way through tryouts and into the fall season you will see these new methods come to fruition.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact him by email or if you see him out on the practice field.
